Here's how we celebrated Gita Jayanti at Chinmaya International Foundation✨

The event started with a serene prayer, and the lamp was lit by Gauri Mahulikar Ji and Br. Ved Chaitanya Ji.

Gauri Ji provided an introduction to the Laghu Vakya Vritti text, setting the stage for a deeper exploration.

Br. Ved Chaitanya Ji took us through the sacred layers of Laghu-vakya-vritti in his enlightening lecture.

Brni. Taarini Chaitanya Ji and Brni. Devaki Ji. graced the session with heartwarming  satsang, making it truly devotional.

On the auspicious day of Gita Jayanti the HSC Convocation Program was held.✨

On the final day, the camp concluded with the divine presence of Swami Sharadananda, Br. Ved Chaitanya, Dr. Gauri Mahulikar and Arvind ji.

All the 50 participants received certificates from Swamiji, marking the successful completion of this journey.

All the 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita were chanted in the afternoon resonating with the sacred SLOGAS.

The celebrations concluded with the first session of the Gita webinar on 'Modern Problems, Timeless Solutions' led by Br. Ved Chaitanya ji.

It was truly a celebration of divine moments, shared wisdom and the blessings of the Bhagavad Gita

May the knowledge of the Gita continue to guide each soul towards the path of wisdom, resilience, and inner peace.💫

Wishing everyone a blessed Gita Jayanti🌺

BHAGAVAD GEETA

Chapter - 2

Discourse – 2 (72 Slogas)

“Yoga of the SUPREME SELF”

Sri Veda Vyasaji

================================================================

Tuesday, 26 Dec 2023 06:50.

Slogam - 25: Therefore, Do Not Grieve!

Post - 47.

================================================================

Slogam - 25: Therefore, Do Not Grieve!

1 Avyaktah ayam, achintyah ayam, = This Self is unmanifested, unthinkable,

2 avikaaryah ayam, uchyate; = and unchangeable – thus is It spoken of.

3 tasmaat evam viditvaa enam = Therefore, knowing This to be such,

4 na anu-shochitum arhasi. = you should not grieve.

================================================================

1-2

These three qualities – Avyaktah, Achintyah and Avikaaryah – may be added to

the list of nouns in the table, and further reflected upon in the way shown above. An

interesting outcome would be that we will find that just one quality on its own is sufficient

to describe our immortality against all the verbs listed.

3-4

Tasmaat:

This tasmaat, unlike the one in verse 18 which referred Arjuna to do

his duty and “Fight”, rounds up the more profound subject of “Grief” which began in slogam

2.11. Grief denotes a more fundamental issue than duty, and it requires the knowledge of

the Self just imparted to remove it completely. It implies that what Sri Krishna has said up to

now is all that is needed for one to attain enlightenment (removal of sorrow). The rest of

the Geeta is a commentary on the teaching of slogas 11-25.

================================================================

AN ANECDOTE BREAK:

The topic of Grief was getting a bit depressing for the class. Acharyaji

wisely brought much-needed relief to everyone with an appropriate anecdote

on the same theme:

A Sardarji was sitting in the balcony on the 8th floor of his Mumbai

apartment, sipping tea. All of a sudden someone from the 13th floor on the

opposite side shouted to him, “O Bindusingh, your daughter Pratima has eloped

with Rohit from Pune!” That was terrible news for poor Sardarji; what was worse

was that it was shouted at the top of the man’s voice for all to hear. It was too

much for the Sardarji. How was he going to face the community now? He at

once thought that the only way out would be for him to die. Without thinking

further, he jumped from his balcony.

As he fell past the 6th floor, he remembered that he did not have a

daughter by the name of Pratima! Then, as he past the 4th floor, he remembered

that he was still a bachelor!! And as he past the 2nd floor, he remembered that

his name was not Bindusingh!!!

A little later, he could not remember anything!
