========================================================================= Saturday,  01  Jul,  2023. 06:50. Chapter 10: Forms of Sacrifice and Concentration-4. ======================================================================== Together with this function we begin to breathe slowly, leisurely, with a sense of freedom from engagements and obligations and duties of every kind at that time. The prana moves calmly, harmoniously, beautifully, only when we have no commitments psychologically. If we have any kind of engagement attracting our attention inwardly, towards that direction the prana also will move. And the agitation of the prana is due to distractedness caused by the desires of the mind, by commitment to activity. Hence, when we sit for meditation, there should be no preconceived background of obligations of any kind. Otherwise, a part of our mind, subconsciously or unconsciously, will be tying itself to the engagements towards which also it has to move, and which it has on it

Chinmaya Mission  Chinmaya Mission Ahmedabad celebrated the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra on 20th June with splendor and devotion. A special puja was performed for all three deities - Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadraji. In the evening, the deities commenced their journey in a wooden chariot specially made in Jagannath Puri, Odisha. They were warmly welcomed by devotees at various locations around the temple premises. The Bhagavan received a special aarti and was offered naivedya. Devotees sang kirtans, played garba, and the temple resonated with the chants of "Jai Ranchhod Makhanchor" and "Krishna Murari Jai Krishna Murari." After an hour and a half, the Yatra concluded at the temple, leaving all the devotees present feeling His divine presence in their hearts. They offered prayers for increased devotion and spiritual connection. ======================================================================== Thursday, 29  Jun, 2023. 07:30. Chapter -1.

Chapter 7: Meditation – A Discipline of Self-Integration - 4. ========================================================================= Now, a philosophical analysis has to help you here in understanding how desires arise, why they are there, and what are the means and methods you have to adopt in checking them, rather, sublimating them, and transmuting them into a friendly power rather than a disturbing, annoying, agonising distraction. That which is an impediment to you psychologically, may become your friend. An energy that is moving outwardly in the direction of a distracting sense-object may get transmuted into your own mental force or consciousness force, and when this attunement takes place, your energy gets re-doubled. Here we have explained, perhaps, the sum and substance of what pratyahara means – the coming together of the energy of the senses with the concentrating activ

This is the first instruction. Here we are likely to make a mistake in understanding the meaning of this statement. The objects have to be severed from their contact with the senses. Generally, what we understand by this suggestion is that we should run away physically from the objects. Geographically there has to be a movement from place to place, from where the objects are located. We move to go to other places where these objects are not available. This is the crudest and the lowest form of renunciation. But we have been cautioned in one place, in the Second Chapter, that physical isolation need not necessarily mean absence of desire for things. The mind may not be dissociated from its contemplate

The Role of Lord Sri Krishna in the Mahabharatam -12 : (Spoken on Sri Krishna Janmasthami in 1972) ========================================================================= Arjuna was saved from many calamities. There are many other incidents which cannot be described in a short compass. In the Karna Parva, Sri Krishna pressed the chariot, making it sink down a few inches into the earth so that the arrow of Karna passed over the head of Arjuna, taking his crown but missing his head. Then, when the war was all over, Sri Krishna said to Arjuna, “By providence, your work is done. Now you get down from the chariot first.” Generally the chariot driver gets down first. He does not tell the passenger to get down first. But here the chariot driver said, “You get down first.” Arjuna could not understand what the matter was. He got down. Then Sri Krishna got down from the chariot. When he g
