Chinmaya Mission High schoolers from CORD USA had a transformative experience during their immersive journey to Sidhbari. For a few weeks, they delved into the profound essence of the CORD movement and its impactful activities. One entire day was devoted to organic farming, where they harnessed the power of natural resources. This unique opportunity fostered a deeper understanding of sustainable practices, instilling a sense of responsibility towards the environment. The enriching exposure to CORD's initiatives left an indelible mark on these young minds, empowering them to become advocates of positive change and embrace a more conscious and compassionate way of life. ========================================================================== Arjuna Vishadha yogam  (“Yoga of Arjuna’s Despondency”) Sri Veda Vyasaji Discourse – 1 (47 Slogas) ========================================================================= Monday, 31 Jul 2023. 06:20. Chinmaya Mission On 11th June, the annual Bala Vihar graduation event took place at Chinmaya Mission in London, Canada. The event was attended by 150 children ranging from J-K to Grade 12, along with their parents. Notably, five students from Grade 12 graduated out of Bala Vihar on this occasion. The gathering included a total of over 350 attendees. The event was a showcase of presentations and skits by students from six different classes. These presentations centered around the values, messages, and self-development lessons rooted in Sanatana Dharma that the students had learned throughout the past year. Graduation speeches, acknowledgments, and a special message by the resident Acharya, Vijay Ji, were also part of the event. Furthermore, attendees had the opportunity to give Guru Dakshina, followed by a delightful multi-cuisine dinner. As the event concluded, it was announced that the new academic year would commence on September 10th, and registrations would open in August. ========

Chinmaya Mission Sevak from Chinmaya Mission Yuvakendra and Chinmaya Setukari from various parts of North America came together for the annual retreat of CHYK DC, held from July 7th to July 9th. Guided by Vivekji from Niagara Falls, and blessed by Swami Dheeranandaji, the attendees delved into the teachings of the Yaksha Prashna, a profound dialogue between Raja Yudhisthira and a mysterious Yaksha found in the Vana Parva of Srimad Mahabharata. Throughout the retreat, they actively engaged in fruitful discussions with Vivekji and fellow participants, while also taking time for personal reflection on the profound lessons contained within the ancient text. Apart from exploring the Yaksha Prashna, the retreat offered ample opportunities for communal bonding, participating in activities such as athletics and glow-in-the-dark garba. The "Fireside Chats," an intimate evening group discussion, allowed everyone to share reflections on personal topics, fostering openness and honest exc

========================================================================= Monday, 24 Jul 2023. 06:30. Chapter 8: Creation and Life After Death-3. ========================================================================= In the beginning, at the commencement of this seventh chapter almost, we are not introduced into the principle of God or Creator very much, though it is mentioned here and there in a scattered manner. A vista of a larger expanse of the universe is opened up before our eyes, wider than our individuality and even our social relations, and we are merely told that God created the world. The principle of creation, or the hypothesis of God creating the world, keeps us in a position of awe, wonder, and our devotion to God as the creator of the universe is sometimes called, in certain fields of theology, aisvarya-pradhana-bhakti – devotion charged with the spirit of awe, wonder and majesty as we would look upon a judge of the Supreme Court or a monarch ruling an empire, who is

======================================================================== Sunday, 23 Jul 2023 06:55. Chapter 11: The Yoga of Meditation - 1. ========================================================================= The Yoga of Meditation is the subject of the Sixth Chapter of the Bhagavadgita—Dhyana Yoga, as it is called. We have noticed that, for the purposes of meditation, a convenient place, free from distractions, is necessary. The time that we choose for meditation, also, is to be such that it should not have the background of any engagement or activity which may distract the attention of the mind from the goal of meditation. A suitable place, a suitable time—these two are very important prerequisites. But more important, perhaps, than place and time is the preparedness of the mind. The mind should be eager to sit for meditation, and it should not feel any kind of compulsion. We do not sit for meditation merely because in our daily routine it is the time allotted for meditation.
