Gita : Ch-1. Slo-9.

Srimad Bhagavad-Gita :

Chapter-1. ( Arjuna-vishadha-yogam )

Slokam-9. (  All of them equipped with many weapons,  expert in military science, are prepared to risk their loves for my sakes, as well as a great many other  heroes. )

Duryodhana talks to his army and its commanders -- continued ..

Anye  ca    bhahavah    soorah    madharthe    tyaktajeevitah,

Nanasastrapraharanah    sarvve    yuddhavisaradah.

Madharthe    =    For me,

Tyaktajeevitah     =     ( Those, who ) are prepared to sacrifice their life,

Nanasastrapraharanah     =     ( Those who ) are capable of  handling  different types of weapons,

Anye   ca   bhahavah   soorah    =    Many more brave fighters too (present),

Sarvve   yuddhavisaradah    =    All are ready for war.

Watch Duryodhan's  lack of politeness behaviour in the battle field, says proudly "these brave men came here to sacrifice their life for me"! But the prince does not know ( aware ) that these brave fighters involving in this war due to their respect to Beeshma Pithamahan only, and not because of loyalty to Duryodhanan. Those who read Mahabharatham (have certainly known thing that)  why majority fighters are with Kouravas side.

There are many other heroes who are prepared to lay down their lives for my sake. All of them are well equipped with different kinds of weapons, and all are experienced in military science.

As far as the others are concerned—like Jayadratha, Krtavarma, Salya, etc.—all are determined to lay down their lives for Duryodhana's sake. In other words, it is already concluded that all of them would die in the Battle of Kurukshetra for joining the party of the sinful Duryodhana. Duryodhana was, of course, confident of his victory on account of the above-mentioned combined strength of his friends.

Duryodhana pushes his point further by stating that many other powerful heroes as well are all determined to lay down their lives for the attainment of his purpose and the achievement of his desire. They are all formidable in battle as well.

The question may be raised are these the only warriors on Duryodhanas side. In this verse that question is answered by the words anye meaning many others, others like Jayadratha and Salya and Krtavarma who are all ready to lay down their lives for him. If it were to be further questioned as to their capability, this would be verified by 2 descriptive adjectives nana- sastra-praharanah meaning they are equipped with various missles as their weapons and yuddha-visarada meaning they are expert in all forms of military science.

That is not all, there are innumerable warriors in great numbers in my army of their calibre. Bahavah meaning innumerable refers to Jayadratha, Krtavarma, Salya and countless others who have all pledged their very lives for his sake and due to their sincere affection for him, with their extraordinary strength and their unsurpassed skill in military science his victory is assured.

To be continued ...
