Chinmaya Mission:

Chinmaya Mission Seattle commenced its annual Bala Vihar classes for the year with great enthusiasm marking a promising beginning to another enriching year ahead. The event was graced by the blessings of Pujya Gurudev, infusing the gathering with spiritual energy and purpose.

The day witnessed a remarkable turnout, with a full house of eager students and dedicated volunteers. The children's excitement was palpable, reflecting the positive atmosphere that surrounded the event. The weather, seemingly in harmony with the occasion, was absolutely perfect.

Amidst this harmonious setting, the day was further brightened by the presence of generous individuals who contributed delicious food, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. These moments of joy and unity highlighted the significance of Chinmaya Mission Seattle's mission to provide spiritual education to the younger generation.

With such a propitious start, the mission is poised for another fulfilling and spiritually enriching year ahead, fostering the growth and well-being of all involved.

Chapter -1. Arjuna Vishada Yogam: 42 & 43.

Slogam-42.

"Sankaro narakayaiva kula-ghnanam kulasya cha

patanti pitaro hy esham lupta-pindodaka-kriyah." (42)

sankarah—unwanted children; 

narakaya—hellish; 

eva—indeed; 

kula-ghnanam—for those who destroy the family; 

kulasya—of the family; 

cha—also; 

patanti—fall; 

pitarah—ancestors; 

hi—verily; 

esham—their; 

lupta—deprived of; 

pindodaka-kriyah—performances of sacrificial offerings.

Translation:

BG 1.42: 

An increase in unwanted children results in hellish life both for the family and for those who destroy the family. Deprived of sacrificial offerings, the ancestors of such corrupt families also fall.

Slogam-43.

"Doshair etaih kula-ghnanam varna-sankara-karakaih

utsadyante jati-dharmah kula-dharmah cha shashvatah."

doshaih—through evil deeds; 

etaih—these; 

kula-ghnanam—of those who destroy the family; 

varna-sankara—unwanted progeny; 

karakaih—causing; 

utsadyante—are ruined; 

jati-dharmh—social and family welfare activities; 

kula-dharmah—family traditions; 

cha—and; 

shashvatah—eternal.

Translation

BG 1.43: 

Through the evil deeds of those who destroy the family tradition and thus give rise to unwanted progeny, a variety of social and family welfare activities are ruined.
