==================================================================================== Sunday 14, September 2025, 05:40. Books Bhagavad Gita. The Teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita: 2.1:  Chapter 2: The Difficulties of the Spiritual Seeker - 1. Swami Krishnananda ===================================================================================== Spiritual life is the greatest of adventures. In that way we can compare it to a battle. It involves careful preparation, as in a war. And, when you engage yourself in a war you do not go there merely to get defeated and thrown out; the intention is to win victory. So the practice of yoga, which is the greatest project that a person can embark upon in life, is in a way comparable to a battle or an encounter, for the purpose of which one has to make an almost infinite set of preparations – for days and months and years perhaps – as a culmination of one's existence here, as the fruit of the tree of one's whole life in this world. Hence, ...

THE BHAGAVAD GEETA: Discourse: 1 - Swami Gurubhaktananda

============================================================================================ Friday 12, September 2025, 06:15. THE BHAGAVAD GEETA:   Discourse – 1 Yoga of Arjuna’s DESPONDENCY” -1. (47 Slogas)  Swami Gurubhaktananda ============================================================================================ THE GEETA FITTINGLY STARTS with the person who has the power at any moment to call off the war – King Dhritarashtra himself. He is physicallyblind; not only so, in his character he is intellectually blind, too, having a strong unreasonable bias for his sons. And above all, he shows himself to be spirituallyblind. This widespread “blindness” is the first thing we note as we go into the opening Chapter. All these forms of blindness rule him out to be a fit King.  There is a ‘Dhritarashtra-element’ in each one of us.  He is that deluded being within who cannot see the Truth from the untruth; who beholds everything from his own, narrow persp...

Chinmaya Mission: With Bhagawan’s kripa and Pujya Gurudev’s blessings, CHYK West hosted a six-day long grand celebration for the 50th anniversary celebration of CHYK. The National CHYK program at the Chinmaya Mahasamadhi Aradhana Camp in San Jose brought together 140 CHYKs from all across North America.  It was an incredible experience in Vraj Bhoomi, absorbed in Swami Swaroopanandaji’s depiction of the divine love of the gopis, refreshed by Swami Prakashanandaji’s inspiring sessions on Manah Shodhanam and the philosophy of Sanatana Dharma, awed by Swami Aparajitanandaji’s sharp insight in Q&A, and entertained by anecdotes shared by Brns. Darshanji, Hariji, Jyotiji, Kritikaji, Shubhaniji, and Stutiji in their panel. In addition to this, CHYKs had a buffet of morning exercises, riveting group discussions, engaging workshops, and cultural programs. The CHYK program concluded with an enthralling bhajan session led by Swami Prakashanandaji. Our heartfelt gratitude to Swami S...

==================================================================================== Sunday 07, Sep 2025, 07:00. Books Srimad Bhagavad Gita A Short History of Religious and Philosophic Thought in India: 2-7. Chapter 2: The Upanishads: Practice of Yoga, Liberation, The Spirit of the Age. Swami Krishnananda. Post-7. ===================================================================================== Practice of Yoga:  The Upanishads regard the senses which are extrovert as obstructions to spiritual experience. The senses have to be subdued and turned inward for the purpose of yoga. When the five senses of perception, together with the mind, stand in tune with the intellect, and the intellect is not distracted by any kind of objectivation, then one is said to be in the highest state of yoga. Yoga is all-round self-control, and this state does not last long, for it comes and goes, and hence the student is very careful. This is the instruction of the older Upanishads on the art of yoga...

===================================================================================== Wednesday 03 Sep 2025, 21:30. Shrimad Bhagavad Gita The Tree of Life: 3.6. Discourse: 3. Severing the Root of this Tree of Life:6. Swami Krishnananda.  ===================================================================================== The thought of God or the love of God can engulf all other loves only if it is as vast as everything, like the ocean itself. The ocean swallows up all the drops, but one drop cannot engulf another drop. If the mind persists in its notion that God is also one of the objects, a content in the universe, then it will not be possible to withdraw the mind from the thought of objects. Love for things in the world can melt in the menstruum of God-experience only when God-thought is inclusive of all other affections. The affection or love for God is not a love that is different from other loves, but it is a transcendent love which includes all other loves, just as the valu...

Swami Chinmayananda These are not just Mantras to admire; they are calls to awaken! Dive deeper into Shankara’s liberating wisdom. Which one did you resonate with the most? Comment below the number!  ==================================================================================== Friday 29, Aug 2025, 07:00. Books Bhagavad Gita. The Teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita: 1.4:  Chapter 1: This Drama of Life - 4. Swami Krishnananda ===================================================================================== The law of a country is larger than the person or the individual who is free. Every person in a nation is free, yet the law is superior to every person. Unless it is superior it cannot exercise a control over others. One individual cannot restrain another individual, because both are on par, as far as they are individuals. A control can be exercised only by a superior power which is super-individualistic, and thus is law. Every disciplined law system rule is super-indi...
