Translation :  "Prescribed duties should never be renounced. If, by illusion, one gives up his prescribed duties, such renunciation is said to be in the mode of ignorance." niyatasya   karmanah  tu  =  prescribed  duties  and  activities  ( daily  duties  /   own  personal  duties  &  towards  others ); sannyasah    na   upapadyate  =  not  correct  to  renounce; mohat  tasya   parityagah   =  because  of  own  foolishness,  in  case  renouncing; tamasah   parikirtitah  =  that  is  said  to  be  tamasa-tyagam. The Hidden Meaning of the Seventh Chapter of the Gita-6. =============================================================== Therefore, there can be only one ‘I' behind the cosmos, not many I's. Many I's cannot say, “We are the creators of the cosmos and we are all things,” because two things cannot be all things. So here is the supremacy of the Godhood that speaks in this strain as ‘I': “I am.” That is all. You cannot say anything more. You can only say, “it is.”  You can know God as Existence. It is, that's all. You should not say anything more about God except that He is. What He is, you should not say, because there is no quality, no attribute that can be associated with Him, inasmuch as He is the All. If He is the All, there can be no external attribute. Chapter-18 The Yoga of the Liberation of  Spirit -3. ================================================================ Likewise, we have a duty towards the world, and that is charitableness, dana. We cannot be possessors, accumulators or hoarders of any kind of property when we live in a world of cooperative action and mutual respect. Respect for others' welfare and recognition of the value of another's existence is the principle of charity, which does not merely mean parting with some material goods that we may possess, but an inward attitude of respect for others, inasmuch as the Self is present in others to the same extent as it is present in us. The feeling of love and affection, and a spontaneous sense of giving rather than taking is the essence of dana, or charity. We perform charity not because we are rich and ot

( BG-15-12 ) Translation  :  "Know that I am like the brilliance of the sun that illuminates the entire solar system. The radiance of the moon and the brightness of the fire also come from Me." “Know that the light and the radiance that you are seeing in the sun above, the luminosity that you see in the moon, the brightness that you see in glowing fire—all this is an emanation from My great radiance. Whatever be the glorious brilliance of these mighty luminaries here in this world—sun, moon, stars, and fire—they appear bright due to the brightness that is reflec

Chapter-19. Knowledge and Action are One - 4. ============================================================ So in that state where freedom is complete and unlimited, you cannot imagine action which is towards some other end. The Universal is a name that we give to that condition of inclusiveness where ends and means are identical, work is worship, action is existence, the means is the same as the end, and the performance is the same as the result. Now, the satisfaction of having understood this doctrine in our daily life will be also to the extent of our having made that doctrine a part of our daily life. To the extent we are ego-ridden individuals, and in the magnitude of our affirmation of our bodily individuality, we cannot but think in terms of actions

Good is interwoven with the bad, in every character. What is the difference then between the Kauravas and the Pandavas? It was not Weakness; they both had that. It was Wickedness. The Kauravas, apart from their human weaknesses were at core very wi

The Hidden Meaning of the Seventh Chapter of the Gita-5. =============================================================== In a similar manner, the whole of creation is ‘I', says the Universal Consciousness. Here we may identify this great ‘I' with the Purusha of the Sankhya – infinite in its nature. Only the Infinite can say, “I am everything.” This identification of the Supreme I in the process of creation and all the evolutes causes various difficulties in understanding from the point of view of an ordinary individual. We cannot actually understand in what manner God pervades the world and in what way creation is effected. We have to take it for granted that it is exactly as it has been described in the scriptures. If you wrack your head too much, you will find no answer because the action of the macroco

Chapter-18 The Yoga of the Liberation of  Spirit -2. ============================================================== It would be hard for us to make out what action is, situated as we are in a human complex working through the medium of social relationships and entertaining an outlook which is secretly motivated by some form of desire. We cannot imagine a state of affairs where we can be entirely free from all desires, whatever be the gospel, whatever be the teaching. This is a great handicap before us. And so it requires a Herculean effort on our part to rise to that level of understanding where it would be possible for us to live without motivated outlooks or desires which are directed to particular ends. It is not possible for anyone to live without doing some kind of action. This is one of the great points made out in the Bha

Chapter-19. Knowledge and Action are One - 3. ============================================================== The problem arises due to the relationship that obtains between the universal and the particular. There is what is called universal action and particular action. We are used to particular, individual, sophisticated, egoistic action, and we are not acquainted with universal action. We are not universal persons. The whole problem here hinges on that. We are so-called particular individuals. We are this, and not more than this. That which is this cannot be that. Hence, we cannot absorb into our localised individuality circumstances which are transcendent to the individuality, which is another way of saying that we cannot be really friends of anybody in
